Tatt-Off: Celebs With Regrettable Ink

Relationships come and go, but tattoos are forever.

Adrienne Bailon - Our list of regrettable ink starts with Adrienne Bailon. The host of The Real, who has a "ratchet" tattoo of her ex-boyfriend Rob Kardashian's name on her rear, admits, "I didn't know what I was thinking." When the relationship ended (badly) in 2009, Bailon got to work on having the ink removed. "It does not feel good," she explains. "You can smell your flesh burning." Yikes. Rihanna - Bad gal Rih Rih has made it clear she doesn't regret any of her body art, from the stars on her neck that match her star-crossed lover Chris Brown's, to the giant Egyptian goddess across her ribcage. But there's one piece of ink that likely makes her cringe: the grammatically incorrect French phrase on her neck. The words "rebelle fleur," meaning "rebellious flower," should actually read "fleur rebelle." It's all good, Rih Rih. We can pardon your French. (Photo: Jeff Binion / Splash News)

Brandy - For someone who has gone though as much relationship drama as Miss Norwood, she should have known better than to get her former fiancè Quentin Richardson's face etched on her back after he proposed in 2004. But she got a double whammy when her 6-year-old daughter, Sy'Rai, expressed interest in getting her own ink. "I had to tell her, when mama gets to be 80 or 90 years old, these tattoos are going to look terrible." (Photo: Ray Tamarra/Getty Images)

Jermaine Dupri - Together for nearly a decade, Dupri and Janet Jackson seemed as rock-solid as you can get in the music industry. Unfortunately, the relationship ended in 2009 and Dupri was left stuck with a massive, Virgin Mary-style tattoo of Jackson on his abs. Surely it stung even more when Jackson moved on with a new husband, billionaire Wissam Al-Mana. (photo: John Ricard / BET)

Nas - Sure, Nas and Kelis were a true hip hop power couple for the years they were together, but the now-divorced couple has more than a baby bonding them together for eternity. The rapper has a tattoo of his nearly-nude ex displayed prominently on his forearm. That's gotta make it hard to move on with a new lady.  (Photo: WENN.com)

Chad Johnson - We suppose Chad Johnson's decision to have his estranged wife Evelyn Lozada's face tattooed on his leg after their domestic violence incident was a bid to win her back, but it clearly didn't work. When asked before his divorce was finalized if he regretted the ink, Ocho replied "f*** no," but we gotta wonder if he's changed his mind now that the former couple have legally gone their separate ways. Eva Longoria - The Desperate Housewives star wasted no time showing her husband, Tony Parker, the door after his infidelities became public, and now she's doing her best to scrub her body of the memories as well. Longoria is in the process of having her three tattoos commemorating her relationship with the NBA star — his jersey number "nine" on the nape of her neck, their wedding date on her wrist and his initials on a part of her body not seen even in a bikini — removed permanently. Marc Anthony - Even though their seven-year relationship is so over, the Puerto Rican crooner will have to live with Jennifer Lopez forever. Anthony has her first name tatted on the inside of his wrist, positioned so he can see it every time he smacks his forehead in regret. (Photo: Frederick M. Brown/Getty Images)

Pharrell - Hip hop's super producer admits he was "young and dumb" when he covered a good portion of his body in ink art. "I ended up getting them as fast as I could, just going through a crazy rebellious phase," he says, adding that he's in the process of having them removed. But the N.E.R.D. front-man is trying a revolutionary new method of getting rid of his ink, involving putting new skin over his tattoos. "You give them a sample of your skin, which they replicate." The new skin is then sewn over the old, "like a skin graft."  (Photos from left: Chad Buchanan /Landov, John Ricard / BET)

Get Rich or Die Tryin' - With an already legendary backstory — surviving nine gunshots, beefing with Ja Rule and Queens gangsters — 50 Cent first set the world on fire with his 2003 classic Get Ready or Die Tryin', which sold more than 8 million records with timeless bangers such as "In Da Club" and "Patiently Waiting." 50 Cent - Fiddy's body is a mural to his past, so why is he trying to erase it? The rapper-actor-entrepreneur says he is having his massive chest and back tattoos removed in service of his fledgling acting career. "It cuts down on the amount of time I have to spend in makeup, covering them up," he says. Let's hope there are plenty of juicy roles in Curtis' future to make all that pain worth it! Nicole Richie - The House of Harlow designer is the picture of polished perfection these days, so it's easy to forget how much of a wild child she was in the past. But unfortunately, Richie has a permanent reminder in the form of tattoos. The socialite and mother of two admitted recently that she has major regrets over her tatts — a Chinese symbol and a "tramp stamp" — but doesn't want to go through the time and pain to have them removed. "I'm hoping in 10 years they'll have new technology," she says. (Photo: Fame Pictures, Inc)

Mark Wahlberg - The bad boy-turned-family man decided to undergo the painful process of having his many tatts removed after becoming a father of four. But he's turning his pain into a lesson for his kids, taking them with him to his removal appointments. "I've taken them to see the procedure so they know how painful it is," he said. "I don't want my kids getting tattoos."    (Photo: Kevork Djansezian/Getty Images)
