Wyclef Jean is slated to headline a non-partisan gala at the Republican National Convention in Tampa, Florida on Aug. 29.

The private event aims to raise funds for both the “Got Your 6” and Lifetime Television’s “Your Life. Your Time. Your Vote.” campaign. A similar event hosted by the two campaigns is scheduled to take place during the Democratic National Convention on Sept. 5 in Charlotte, N.C.

“Got Your 6” is an entertainment industry initiative that helps veterans reintegrate into civilian life, and Lifetime’s “Your Life. Your Time. Your Vote” has encouraged greater voter participation and civic engagement among women since 1992. Funds raised from the concerts will benefit "Got Your 6" whose name is a military term meaning, “Got your back.”

Jean was added to the lineup after country singer Randy Travis dropped out following a recent DUI arrest.
