During a commencement speech at Oregon State, where her brother, Craig Robinson, coaches the men's basketball team, the first lady recalled how she left a lucrative law career to go into public service. "I was living the dream, but it wasn't my dream," she said. "Success is only meaningful and enjoyable if it feels like your own.”

Obama also was awarded an honorary doctorate in public health for her Let's Move initiative and other efforts to improve health.
