We Choose ...

It's that time in the campaign cycle when major publications make known their choice for president. Some of the choices are obvious, such as The New York Times' enthusiastic endorsement of President Obama, and surprises, like The Salt Lake Tribune's support for the incumbent and The Des Moines Register backing Republican Mitt Romney, a flip from 2008. The verdict's still out on whether they really make a difference, but the conventional wisdom is that they could help undecideds in battleground states pick a side. – Joyce Jones
