A moonlit shot of African migrants in Djibouti taken by American photographer John Stanmeyer won the World Press Photo of the Year award for 2013 on Friday.
The group was holding their cellphones to the sky, to seek a better reception signal from neighboring Somalia to communicate with family members abroad. Stanmeyer was working for the National Geographic.
