Djibouti

The small African nation of Djibouti hosts the U.S. Africa Command (AFRICOM) — the only permanent U.S. base on the African continent.

According to AFRICOM, the U.S. forces stationed there “serve as trainers and examples of military professionalism and U.S. core national values during the command’s joint exercises.”
