Backlash Against African Migrants in Israel Heightens

Tensions between the swelling numbers of African migrants and Israeli citizens have heightened over the last week with politicians and protesters alike calling for their removal. Although the African migrants make up less than one percent of the population, some Israelis worry that their national identity is being threatened.

"It's the crumbling of the Zionist dream," Interior Minister Eli Yishai warned on Thursday, the Associated Press reported.
