Poverty in America
While lower in comparison to other nations, poverty rates in America remain a concern for humanitarian organizations. In 2011, 46.2 million Americans lived in poverty, although the number of people in poverty decreased for noncitizens, people living in the South and people "living inside metropolitan statistical areas but outside principal cities between 2010 and 2011."
