Upset With Unrest

Residents of Bangui expressed relief that violence calmed down in the capital, but worred about the overall cost of that safety.

Hugues Kossi, a college student in Bangui, told the New York Times: “I am afraid of combat and stray bullets,” he said. But he said he was also tired of the poverty and misrule of Bozizé’s government. “It is bad governance that has led us to this situation.”
