Who Are the Rebels?

The Seleka rebels are composed of fighters from three groups — Union of Democratic Forces for Unity, the Wa Kodro Salute Patriotic Convention and the Convention of Patriots for Justice and Peace — who have joined forces to launch a rebellion. Seleka means “alliance” in the local Sango language.
