Vietnam Escapes Worst of Storm

A man in Ha Long Bay, Vietnam, watches a tourist boat sink. The typhoon made landfall in northern Vietnam early Monday as a tropical storm. The damage affected the country less than the Philippines, though several hundreds of houses were left damaged and trees uplifted. More than 600,000 Vietnamese were evacuated. (Photo: AP Photo/Hau Dinh)
