Dinka vs. Nuer: A History of Bloodshed?

Following a power struggle among the southern rebels in 1991, Machar broke away from Kiir and his deputy, John Garang. He also severed ties with the Sudan People’s Liberation Army (SPLA) and Sudan People’s Liberation Movement (SPLM), and allied his Nuer militia with the North.
