The Nigerian Government Makes False Claims

The Nigerian military said on April 16, a day after the kidnappings, they rescued most of the missing girls. However, the government's tally of missing students differed by more than 100 compared to parents and staff, according to The New Yorker. The government’s deception exposed its untrustworthiness surrounding Boko Haram, which is responsible for claiming more than 4,000 lives since 2009.
