Human Trafficking in Nigeria

Human trafficking is a major issue of concern in Nigeria. Six out of 10 people trafficked in the west are from Nigeria and young women and girls are predominant targets. Since 2001, the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) has rescued more that 4,000 victims, according to the United Nations Office of Drugs and Crime.
