Taiye Selasi

A writer of Nigerian and Ghanaian descent, Taiye Selasi was born in London, raised in Boston, educated at Yale and Oxford University and currently spends her time in New York City, Rome and New Delhi. Her multifaceted background and upbringing mirrors the storyline of her debut novel Ghana Must Go. "I describe myself as Afropolitan to suggest perhaps a more complicated African identity than the ones available to my parents’ generation,” Selasi told The Globe and Mail.
