Black Lawmakers Back Africa Trade Bill to Create Jobs

Black lawmakers, government officials and stakeholders held a hearing Tuesday to discuss a new bill that would help create jobs in America while bolstering African economies. Co-sponsored by Rep. Karen Bass (D-California) and authored by Rep. Bobby Rush (D-Illinois), the Increasing American Jobs through Greater Exports to Africa Act intends to assist in increasing U.S. exports to Africa by 200 percent within the next 10 years by helping to reduce barriers to trade.
