Israel Heightens Crackdown on African Migrants

Last week Israel ushered in a new law that allows authorities to jail migrants for up to three years and gives people helping or sheltering migrants prison sentences of between five and 15 years. Also, President Benjamin Netanyahu ordered the speedy deportation of 25,000 migrants from African countries such as South Sudan, Ivory Coast, Ghana and Ethiopia.
