Kenyan MPs Vote to Increase Their Salaries

Kenya’s ministers of parliament (MP) hiked their pay to more than 130 times the country’s minimum wage ($76) —defying both President Uhuru Kenyatta’s pleas and angry protesters rallying in the capitol. With an unemployment rate of 40 percent, Kenya is home to some of the world’s best-paid lawmakers.
