Nigeria Outlaws Gay Marriage
A bill passed by Nigerian lawmakers could ban gay marriage and the formation of gay rights organizations in the West African country. Both Nigeria’s Senate and House of Representatives have approved the anti-gay marriage bill. Offenders could possibly face 10 to 14 years in prison. Nigerian President Jonathan Goodluck would need to sign the bill into law for it to take effect.
