Support for Female Genital Mutilation Declines

A recent Unicef study shows that support for female genital mutilation (FGM) is declining among both men and women. The survey, described as the most comprehensive study on the issue to date, found that in the 29 countries throughout Africa and the Middle East where FGM is still practiced, girls were less likely to be cut than they were 30 years ago.
