Same Sex Marriage Is Legalized in England

British lawmakers have passed a bill approving same-sex marriage in England and Wales. The bill, which will permit gay couples to marry in both civil and religious ceremonies, now awaits a final approval from Queen Elizabeth II. The nation’s first gay marriage is expected to take place by next summer.
