Mandela Family Under Fire

The Mandela family is under fire for legal aid, a long-standing political scandal ends in China, a famous Zimbabwe musician passes away, plus more global headlines. —LaToya Bowlah and Patrice Peck

The famous South African family has been accused of receiving free legal aid meant for the poor. Staff at the Rhodes University Law Clinic — whose services helped several family members win a case against Mandla Mandela — claimed that some family members were indigent and that the case would have an "impact on human rights and the socio-economic conditions of disadvantaged communities."
