African Leaders Tells West to Lift Sanctions

"The people of Zimbabwe have suffered enough,” Malawian President Joyce Banda said this past weekend about the West’s sanctions imposed on the Southern African nation. Additional Southern African leaders backed Banda’s sentiments at a recent summit in Malawi, claiming that Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe’s election victory had proven to be “free and peaceful.”
