Benedict XVI to Possibly Attend Pope Canonization

Retired Pope Benedict XVI might make a rare public appearance alongside current Pope Francis this spring. Deceased Popes John Paul II and John XXIII will be honored in a saint-making ceremony on April 27 and, as the Vatican spokesman told press, “there’s no reason — either doctrinal or institutional — that [Benedict] couldn’t participate.”
