Chinese Former Political Star Sentenced to Life in Jail

After being found guilty of bribery, embezzlement and abuse of power, former Communist Party official Bo Xilai was sentenced to life in prison on Sunday. He says he plans to appeal his verdict and sentencing. Xilai’s case has shed light on the national debate around corruption in Chinese politics and the factional struggle among the ruling elite in the Communist Party.
