Muslim Brotherhood Banned

Egyptian authorities severed the lifeline of the Muslim Brotherhood on Monday when it ordered the banning of the group and seized its assets, inevitably disabling its widespread network of hospitals, schools, charities and other social institutions. This drastic move follows an extensive crackdown that security forces have launched against the Brotherhood since the July 3 ousting of President Mohammed Morsi.
