Egypt Continues State of Emergency

On Thursday, Egypt’s interim president, Adly Mansour, extended a nationwide state of emergency by two months, with the interim prime minister, Hazem el-Beblawi, citing “an increasingly tense situation.” Beblawi also told the local news on Wednesday that the nighttime curfew that has been in effect throughout most of the country might be eased ahead of schools and universities starting.
