Surge in Haiti’s Non-Profits Provides Job Hope

Since Haiti was torn apart by an earthquake followed by a hurricane in 2010, the country remains in a state of despair. With a 40 percent unemployment rate, the emergence of for-profit businesses, such as Thread, which turns trash into usable objects, is helping to provide jobs and hope.
