WHO: Polio Outbreaks Require Immediate Action

The World Health Organization announced on Monday that, for the first time ever, the spread of polio has become a world health emergency. "Until it is eradicated, polio will continue to spread internationally, find and paralyze susceptible kids," Dr. Bruce Aylward, who leads WHO's polio efforts, said during a press briefing.
