China Presses South Sudan Over Violence
The Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi is pressing South Sudan to cease violence. China is one of the country’s biggest oil investors. This comes days after government troops clashed with South Sudan rebels in Bentiu, the capital of the Unity state. "Opening a political dialogue is the only way for South Sudan to achieve national reconciliation," Wang added, according to Reuters.
