Because of the aggressive nature of triple negative breast cancer, in May 2009, Temeka’s doctors put her on constant chemotherapy. She had a mastectomy on her left breast three months later and was declared cancer-free in December 2009. With a clean bill of health, Temeka scheduled surgery for a breast implant for May 2010. A post-operative chest scan revealed that the cancer had spread to her lungs, liver, and bones.
