New Coalition Offers Support to Black Cancer Patients

Beginning in Jan. 2012, the National African-American Cancer Coalition, a national nonprofit based in Quincy, Massachusetts, will launch cancer-care centers in several U.S. cities in order to address the specific needs of African-American cancer patients and their families. The mortality rate for African-Americans with cancer is higher than any other racial and ethnic group for all cancers combined, according to the U.S. Office of Minority Health.
