HIV and Black Women

Heterosexual exposure is the primary source of new infections among Black women. Among women, Blacks are more than 15 times more likely than whites to become infected with HIV. "In 2009, Black women represented 57 percent of all new HIV infections among women, compared to 21 percent for whites and 16 percent for Latinas," the BAI reports.
