Obesity Falls a Bit Among Young Children

A new CDC study has found some encouraging news: Obesity rates among 2- to 4-year-olds decreased a modest amount over the past 10 years. Looking at low-income children, researchers found that in 2010 obesity was 14.9 percent, down from 15.2 percent in 2003. It’s unclear as to why, but according to the New York Times, some experts believe that an increase in breastfeeding may be helping kids maintain a healthy weight.
