African-Americans Less Likely to Receive Kidney Transplants

Researchers from Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine found that kidney patients who are African-American were 56 percent less likely to receive transplants compared to whites. Researchers also found that patients with private insurance as opposed to having no health care or being on Medicaid were three times more likely to receive a transplant, Reuters wrote
