What Are Our Risk Factors?

It’s believed that diabetes and high blood pressure play a role. Diabetes is the number-one cause of kidney failure, and African-Americans are twice as likely to be diabetic. High blood pressure is the second cause for kidney failure, and Blacks are six times more likely than whites to have kidney failure because of it. Keeping these ailments in check can make a difference in our kidney health.
