Should Obesity Be Considered an Illness?

The American Medical Association (AMA) has officially labeled obesity as a “disease that requires a range of medical interventions for treatment and prevention,” USA Today reported. Given the influence the AMA has, this move may encourage policy makers to allocate more money to research and treatment of obesity in the future.
