Stay Hydrated

It may seem like a no-brainer, but make sure you stay hydrated with fluids, even when you don't feel thirsty. This can prevent heat-induced illness such as heat stroke, a life-threatening condition in which a person's internal thermostat is compromised and the body cannot cool itself. Avoid drinks with caffeine or alcohol, as they can increase dehydration. (Photo: Cate Gillon/Getty Images)
