Study: Poverty Behind Crumbling Health Among Blacks in St. Louis

Social inequality is to blame for racial health disparities in St. Louis, says a recent study. Researchers estimate that in 2011, 280 Blacks in St. Louis who died lived in poverty and 237 Blacks who died didn't have a high school diploma, St. Louis Public Radio reported. Education and social income influence neighborhood safety; access to health care and healthy foods; and the lifestyle choices we make.
