Often Ignored: Black Women and Binge Eating
When we think about eating disorders, we don’t often associate them with Black women. But a recent Real Health report reminds that us that binge eating disorder (BED) is as common among African-American women as it white women. Cultural acceptance of obesity and stigma around seeking mental health services may be reasons why the issue gets ignored.
