Why Are Trans Fats Unhealthy?

Trans fats are found to raise “bad” cholesterol, lower “good” cholesterol, raise your triglyceride (fat in your blood) level and raise your heart disease risk. The FDA commissioner believes that 20,000 heart attacks and 7,000 deaths a year in the United States could be eliminated if trans fats were no longer in foods.
