What Are They Exactly?

Trans fats have been around since the 1950s. Also called partially hydrogenated oils, these fats are created when hydrogen is added to vegetable oil. Combining the two makes the oil more solid and from there they are added to foods in hopes to make them more flavorful and give them longer shelf life.
