Blacks Are Less Likely to Receive Preventative Dental Care

African-Americans are least likely to receive preventative dental care in the U.S., says a recent report. Only 57 percent of us received yearly cleanings compared to 77 percent of Asian-Americans and 62 percent of Latinos. Researchers blame lack of insurance, poverty and culturally competent dentists in Black communities for this racial health disparity.
