Flu Epidemic Killed 10 Times More People Than Once Believed

The flu killed more than 203,000 people around the world in 2009, according to a recent report by the World Health Organization (WHO). These findings were surprising given that it was believed that the world death toll for that year was 123,000. The report also found that swine flu killed 18,400 people, USA Today writes.
