Exposure Therapy Can Help Sexual Abuse Survivors 

Prolonged exposure therapy can help teenage girls suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder from past sexual abuse, says a new study. This therapy, which requires that patients repeat out loud instances of their trauma, allowed for girls to feel less shameful, get closure and overcome PTSD. It’s estimated that 60 percent of Black girls have been sexually abused.
