What Are Fibroids?

Fibroids are noncancerous tumors found in a woman’s uterus (womb) and are usually found during a woman’s childbearing years. They can be the size of a seed or in rare cases as big as a cantaloupe; they can be a cluster of tumors or just one. Fibroids are not found to increase your risk of developing uterine cancer, says Mayo Clinic.
