Complications to Tonsillectomies

Complications can include bleeding, infection, nausea, pain and in some cases death. The death rates for tonsillectomies can range from 1 in 10,000 to 1 in 35,000 (1.5 to 14 percent.) Yet, tonsillectomies are one of the most common procedures performed each year.
