Stroke Guidelines Created for Women

For the first time, stroke guidelines have been created for women. Researchers suggest that women wanting birth control should be screened for high blood pressure; women with pregnancy-induced high blood pressure should be monitored closely; and women with heart disease and obesity (stroke risk factors) should be treated early. FYI: Sixty percent of strokes happen to women.
