The Real Housewives of Atlanta star stresses the importance of being "equally yoked" with your partner.
Porsha Stewart isn't letting her divorce with estranged husband Kordell Stewart darken her perception of love and romance. The Real Housewives of Atlanta star recently sat down with Sister 2 Sister magazine to dish advice on finding Mr. Right and while some might question her expertise on the matter, her words are ones we could all stand to follow.
"I think a woman should look for a man who they feel they can trust and who has their best interest at heart," she said.
Stewart stood by her man even though they clashed on important things like their family and her career in the beauty industry, but now realizes that in order for a marriage to work you need to be "equally yoked" with your partner.
"The way that you'll know if a man is equally yoked to you is if your purpose in life is aligned with his," she said. "A lot of people get married and don't know what their purpose is. Because a lot of people don't know how to be still, stop their thoughts, stop their wants and try to listen to hear what God wants them to do, and once He tells you what He wants for your life, you have to trust that and move on it."
Sounds like she's learned quite a bit from her mistakes. What do you think about Stewart's words of wisdom? Do you agree with her?
