The comedian says she needs another funny man in her life.
Torrei Hart and Kevin Hart are showing the world that you don't have to hate your former spouse once you divorce. The pair called it quits in 2010, but with joint custody over two children, they've been able to stay friends and co-parent effectively. In a recent interview with CocoaFab, Torrei chats about getting back into the dating field after being married to a public figure and how she and Kevin have figured out how to juggle their schedules and still be there for their kids, Heaven Leigh and Hendrix.
"In the beginning it wasn't this easy. Now we're kind of like on a good schedule. We have a very good schedule," she says. "Communication every single day, almost every morning, and just knowing what's going on with the kid's schedule…that's pretty much it. I would have to say just daily communication.”
"I'm like, 'Look we have two kids. We have to stay in one accord and communicate.' I'm just a stickler for that and it's good he is the same way. It works for us. We both realize it's about the children and so we make it work," she says, adding that flexibility is key when it comes to successful co-parenting.
She also listed her requirements for future dates — and judging by her ex-husband, it's no surprise that having a sense of humor is top on her list.
"He doesn't have to be a comedian, just that he makes me laugh. I need to laugh a lot. That's the type of person I am. I can't be around people who are too serious because it bores...I need that humor. I also need loyalty. I need stability. I need somebody, pretty much somebody I can trust more than anything, but I do like the funny man."
